Eddie Howe announces Newcastle team – Burn and Gordon start

The team should be a lot more defensively sound with Burn and Longstaff back.

The side has looked wide open on the counter-attack recently. Longstaff especially should sit back further than Miley who liked getting up the pitch, and often found the opposition got in behind him on the counter.

Normally with Trippier being out, you would expect less of the play to be down the right-hand side, but Livramento is just as good going forward, if not better.

Gordon and Livra on corners I am guessing.Newcastle XI: Dúbravka; Livramento, Lascelles, Schär, Burn; Longstaff, Bruno Guimarães, Joelinton; Almirón, Wilson, Gordon.

Fulham XI: Leno; Castagne, Adarabioyo, Diop, Robinson; João Palhinha, Cairney; Iwobi, Andreas Pereira, Wilson; Jiménez. It will be interesting to find out the problem with Isak – you could see he hasn’t been quite right for a while. Hopefully not too serious as it gives us no attacking option on the bench. Only thing we could do is bring on Miley and move big Joe up front.Mr Tuff

I fully understand where you`re coming from mate, feeling a bit apprehensive myself, but you know the toon Mr Tuff they tend to win when least expected, let`s hope that`s the case today mate. The team should be a lot more defensively sound with Burn and Longstaff back.

The team will be more defensively sound with burn

Just shows you know nothing

Was he sound when liverpool took him go the cleaners

Or when brighton tore him a new one

Then magic Eddie brings him on against Milan he lises the forward and we are out of Europe

If you want to finish bottom half or win the championship burn is your man if you want top six this donkey shouldn’t be anywhere near the ist team

Had a few comments on here recently and looks like the same boring old pensioners are on here kissing Eddie’s arse

He should not be the manager next season the man has found his level and will not take us to the next one

Anybody who has lascelles Ritchie and dummett near the ist team is a fool never mind dishing out more contracts

Finally you have muppets on here thinking 3 points is in the bag

Reallythink Eddie summed up the team situation perfectly in the press conference, “we are getting a couple of players back but not in their best physical condition, then you’ve got players that are having to keep playing that are picking up things.”Calm down Zorro you young firebrand! If Eddies level is qualification for the Champions league then I am OK with that. As for the three players you mentioned, I doubt they will be around much longer.
