Gordon, a star player for Newcastle United, has answered questions about why he hasn’t been used much at the European Championships.

Anthony Gordon says he doesn’t plan to talk to Gareth Southgate about not playing enough at Euro 2024.

He has only been able to play for one minute of regular time in Germany and a few minutes of stoppage time in Slovenia’s 0-0 draw. In Newcastle, there is a strong push for the Toon star to start against Slovakia, and Alan Shearer has also backed his case.

Gordon didn’t know why Southgate didn’t pick him when asked. “That’s for the manager,” he said. I can only handle what I can. Do what I can to make choosing as hard as I can for him. If and when you need me, I’ll be right there.

“No, I’m not that guy who knocks on the manager’s door.” It seems like if I work hard and do my best every day, that will make it hard for the manager to choose the best players. But I can’t control the other things.

Gordon also talked about his strange bike accident while he was recovering in Germany after the game against Slovenia. The ex-Everton star said, “It was supposed to be a recovery bike ride. As I went down the hill, I tried to take a picture for my family, and all of a sudden I hit the floor face first.” There are only a few cuts, nothing too painful.

“Electric bikes are much faster than regular bikes. The front brake is on the left, and I tried to slow down by pressing the right one, but it didn’t work. Instead, it hit the ground hard, and I landed ten feet in the air, chin first.”

“I kept going and finished riding my bike.” When I got back to camp, I had to do something that hurt really badly. To be fair, thank goodness no one saw me.
