This coming season, Allan Saint-Maximin might be able to play in the Champions League.

It is said that the French winger has agreed to leave Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League and join Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig. The 27-year-old left Newcastle to join Al Ahli for £22 million a year ago.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, says that Jose Mourinho, the new manager of Fenerbahce, has “already approved” the signing of Saint-Maximin as the teams try to come to an agreement.

Romano tweeted, “José Mourinho wants Allan Saint-Maximin to Fenerbahçe as one of his top targets. Talks are still going on with the club.”He already agreed to the move; now we just need agreement from both clubs.

During his time at Al Ahli, Saint-Maximin scored four goals and set up ten others.

With this move, the French winger would be able to play in the qualifying rounds for the Champions League this coming season. He missed out on playing in the tournament last year with Newcastle.

Galatasaray beat Fenerbahce to come second in the 2023–24 Super Lig season, even though Fenerbahce had 99 points and only lost one game.

Saint-Maximin is still a fan favorite in Newcastle, where he played for four seasons and scored 13 goals in 124 games. So Eddie Howe, the manager, had to sell him last summer so that the team could sign Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento later in the transfer window.

Newcastle’s biggest sale since the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund took over in October 2021 was Saint-Maximin. That was until the sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson at the end of last month.
