“‘He has assumed that responsibility’ – Brendan Rodgers commends Adam Idah as the Cork native capitalises on his opportunity at Celtic.”Brendan Rodgers is of the opinion that Adam Idah is seizing the opportunity to establish himself as the primary striker at Celtic,

following his impressive achievement of scoring his fourth goal in three matches during the 6-0 victory over Dundee at Parkhead. The Republic of Ireland international occupied a subordinate role to Kyogo Furuhashi prior to the latter’s transition to the French club Rennes during the January transfer window.

Having recently been acknowledged as the premier centre forward for the first time since his £9.5 million transfer from Norwich last summer, following a loan period at Parkhead, Idah decisively scored Celtic’s second goal after Arne Engels had initially opened the scoring with a penalty awarded subsequent to a VAR review.

A second-half brace from Daizen Maeda, an additional goal from Engels, and a decisive contribution from substitute Nicolas Kuhn propelled the Hoops to a 13-point advantage over Rangers at the summit of the William Hill Premiership, with 13 matches remaining in the season. Rodgers, expressing satisfaction with the “outstanding” performance of his team as a whole, remarked on Idah:

“He was inevitably required to exercise patience in this context, particularly given the presence of an exceptional striker in Kyogo, whose playing style aligns closely with my vision for the team’s approach to play and pressing, among other aspects.” “Upon his arrival, he was required to adapt to the existing framework; nevertheless, he still made significant contributions.”

“I believe he has now assumed that responsibility and perceives this as an opportunity for personal growth, as he understands that at Celtic, he is required to deliver results and maintain a consistent level of performance.”

“I am genuinely delighted for him; he is exhibiting a distinct transformation and is becoming quite a formidable presence.” “His goal was commendable; he executed an impressive run, successfully took his shot, maintained his composure on the ground, rose to his feet, and subsequently secured the rebound, culminating in an excellent finish.”

I am exceedingly delighted for him.During a remarkable performance prior to his substitution in the second half, he provided an exceptional cross that enabled Maeda to score his inaugural goal. Rodgers stated, “I had previously observed him from an external perspective, and subsequently, I have witnessed his training and work ethic. He is indeed a significant player.”

“I eagerly anticipate his attainment of the requisite level of fitness in relation to football.” He has missed a significant amount of football and has not participated extensively; however, he is undeniably a player of exceptional quality. “His approach to handling the ball exhibits a delightful confidence.” However, he demonstrates a high level of effectiveness.

He not only appears to be a proficient player, but he is indeed a proficient player. “He possesses the ability to outmanoeuvre opponents, deliver precise passes, execute accurate crosses, and take effective shots; he is undoubtedly a remarkable talent.”
