Although Will Osula did not find the back of the net, he undeniably captivated the audience for Newcastle United during their match against Birmingham City on Saturday. The 21-year-old was granted only his third starting opportunity for Newcastle following his £10 million transfer from Sheffield United during the summer. Having scored in his previous start in the FA Cup third round against Bromley, there was considerable anticipation surrounding Osula’s re-entry into the lineup. However, with Callum Wilson returning to the starting eleven after recovering from injury, Osula was repositioned to the right wing for the encounter at St. Andrew’s. Head coach Eddie Howe had previously indicated that Osula could be a viable option in that role after The Magpies transferred Miguel Almiron to Atlanta United last month.
