Hidden reason why 27-year-old forward Gabriel Jesus was absent from Aston Villa vs. Arsenal match on saturday (0-2)
Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has named his starting eleven for their Premier League match at Villa Park against Aston Villa.
The Premier League game between Arsenal and Aston Villa will not have Gabriel Jesus on the team.
Even though he was hurt for a lot of last season, the Brazilian had a good preseason. He can’t play today at Villa Park, though, because he hurt his hip.
In this case, Kai Havertz stays in the number nine spot. On either side of him in the Arsenal front line are Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Mikel Arteta makes two changes to his starting eleven from the 2-0 win over Wolves last week. Jose Jurrien Timber is going to play left back instead of Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Somewhere else Jakub Kiwior is back with the substitutes. The Polish player hadn’t been in the group for the game against Wolves last week.
Fabio Vieira is not with the team. It was decided that the Portuguese midfielder would go back to Porto on loan for the rest of the season. The team instead has Ethan Nwaneri, and Tommy Setford and Salah Oulad M’Hand, both from the school, have traveled with the group.
To be fair, Eddie Nketiah is one of the replacements. The England forward is getting closer to a £30 million move to Nottingham Forest, which could mean that Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad is on his way there.
