Newcastle United
How FC Barcelona can solve the biggest issues in Newcastle United F.C as defender and a right-winger has been identified from the LaLiga club
Newcastle is currently seeking a right-winger and a defender, and Barcelona may be able to offer a solution.
The search for remedies to Newcastle’s two primary transfer priorities has already commenced following the arrival of Paul Mitchell as Newcastle United’s new sporting director on Thursday morning.
The Magpies are rumored to be in the market for a right-winger and a centre-half. Now that they have resolved their PSR issues, they may be able to spend a significant amount of money on both positions in order to build upon their seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season.
Newcastle has been in contact with a variety of players for both positions, such as Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw at center-half and Jarrod Bowen and Federico Chiesa at right-wing.
However, the dominant teams in La Liga Barcelona may possess the solution to their transfer demands in both positions, and Newcastle could capitalize on Barca’s significant summer transfer priority to their advantage.
The Athletic Bilbao star’s performances have inspired La Roja so far this summer, and reports in Spain suggest that Barcelona is eager to complete a transfer for the star of EURO 2024, Spain, Nico Williams.
Barcelona is eager to activate the winger’s reported release clause of approximately £43million, as the 21-year-old recorded eight goals and 19 assists at the club level last season.
However, reports indicate that they are contemplating the sale of both defender Ronald Araujo and winger Raphinha in order to fund the transfer.
Newcastle has been tentatively associated to both players this summer, and both players play in positions that are priorities for Newcastle in the transfer market this summer.
Fabian Schar and Lloyd Kelly are the sole recognized center-halves in the squad at present, as the Magpies are presently shorthanded at centre-half due to injuries to Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman. Eddie Howe has opted to employ both players as full-backs, despite the fact that Dan Burn and Emil Krafth have previously served as substitutes.
Consequently, they are currently seeking an additional center-half, and United could do a lot worse than Araujo, a Uruguayan international who is a consistent member of the Barcelona squad.
In the interim, Raphinha would resolve Newcastle’s right-wing dilemma and would arrive with Premier League credentials following his two seasons at Leeds United.
The Brazil international achieved six goals and nine assists in his inaugural season in England at Elland Road. Subsequently, he registered 11 goals and three assists in his second campaign, all while playing for a struggling Whites team.
His performance statistics at Barcelona have remained consistent, with 20 goals and 27 assists in two seasons. Newcastle would be taking a minimal risk by attempting to lure him back to England if he were to be sacrificed.
In the event that Newcastle is unable to secure their primary objectives, it may be advantageous for them to form a marriage of convenience with the Spanish giants.
