In Rangers’ victory over Celtic, Hamza Igamane overwhelms Chris Sutton. Rangers achieved a significant victory in the Old Firm derby by defeating Celtic 3-2 at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon. It was Barry Ferguson’s inaugural match against Celtic, and he has since achieved an unblemished managerial record.

He becomes the first Rangers manager to win his first match at Celtic Park since Walter Smith in 1991. This week has been quite eventful for the Gers! Initially, they defeated Fenerbahce to qualify for the Europa League’s last eight, and they have since secured a derby victory. Chris Sutton was taken aback by Hamza Igamane’s thunderous strike from 20 yards out, which secured the victory for Rangers. It was referred to as a “phenomenal” strike in the Celtic legend.

Rangers demonstrated a level of vitality and determination that was lacking during the tenures of their previous managers. Nicolas Raskin provided them with an early advantage, which they later doubled in the 37th minute with Mohamed Diomande. As they have throughout the season, Celtic responded after the interval and levelled the tie with goals from Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate.

Cyriel Dessers failed to capitalise on a significant opportunity to vault Rangers into the lead, while Igamane did not. He demonstrated his nerve and sophistication with a thunderous strike from a distance, rendering the Celtic custodian incapable of rescuing the ball. Celtic maintains a 13-point advantage in the Scottish Premiership table; however, Rangers supporters derive immense satisfaction from this victory.

The Gers have regained a sense of prestige and can anticipate concluding the season on a high note, which will instill them with immense confidence. Ferguson will be exceedingly pleased of his players. In a derby contest, they gave their all on the field, and that is all that can be expected. He not only elicited the best performance from the players who started, but also from those who came off the substitute.
