Liel Abada sent a long goodbye message to Celtic and the fans of the club after leaving for Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer for a lot of money.

This season, Abada has had problems off the field that have been well documented. He has tried to continue his career elsewhere after it became clear that he wasn’t in the right frame of mind to keep playing for the Bhoys.

The Israeli player thanked his Celtic teammates, staff, and boss for being there for him during a tough time. He also thanked the Bhoys fans for their support over the last few seasons.

On Instagram, he wrote, “After two and a half amazing years, it’s time to say goodbye.”

“I have no idea where to start. I didn’t want to leave Celtic, but as life often does, it shows us that we’re not always in charge. The last six months have been hard for me, but the Gaffer, trainers, and board have been there for me and helped me through it all. We will never forget how strong their faith was during these hard times.

“Thinking about my journey here makes me smile. The trophies I’ve won, the goals I’ve reached, the electric atmospheres, and the moments of pure happiness will always be etched in my mind.”

“I want to thank my staff and teammates for pushing me to do better as a person and as a player.” All of you have been very important in making me who I am today.

“A big thank you to my family and girlfriend, whose unwavering love and support have kept me going.”

When I was 19, moving to a new country was scary, but Niro and his family made me feel right at home in Scotland right away. On and off the field, their kindness made all the difference. The wonderful Israeli society in Glasgow has shown me a lot of love and warmth. When I think of you, I feel close to you.

“Lastly, I want to thank all the Celtic fans. Things have been really hard for me and my family lately, but I want to thank all the Celtic fans who have stuck by me, cheered me on, and respected me as a player for Celtic. I hope I’ve given you some memories to remember me by.

“Now it’s time for me to start a new part of my journey in a different place with new goals.” From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything.

According to Sky Sports, Celtic will get around £10 million for Abada’s sale, which isn’t bad at all given the player made it clear he didn’t want to stay at the club.

Charlotte have agreed to a deal that lasts until 2026, with a chance to make it last until 2027. It’s said that they’ve spent the most money ever for the team. Check out 90min.com.

Abada played 112 times for the Boyz, hitting 29 goals and setting up 22 more. He scored important goals in the Rangers derby in both of his first and second seasons at the club.

He is still only 22 years old, so he has a lot of room to grow. It will be interesting to see how he does in the United States. There may be a new star in the MLS.
