This afternoon, Manchester City plays Liverpool at Anfield in the first of two big games in the race for the title.
One point separates City and Liverpool, and City knows that a win will put them ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s team and into first place. On Saturday, Arsenal passed both of them to take the lead by one point, but they have played one more game. City’s next Premier League game is at the end of the month against Arsenal. These two games will decide the season.
Jack Grealish won’t be able to play for Pep Guardiola, and Jeremy Doku isn’t fully healthy. Guardiola sat a few players this week in the Champions League game against FC Copenhagen. He said that he did this because his players were tired, not because they had to go to Liverpool soon.
Since 2003, City has only won once at Anfield, and Guardiola has only been in charge of one win during his time at City. Guardiola and Klopp will not play each other again in the Premier League because Klopp is leaving his job as manager of Liverpool at the end of the season.
