Man City’s injury update on six players who could potentially enhance their Champions League prospects in the wake of Ederson’s clarification
Ederson will be absent from Manchester City’s upcoming match against Everton due to concerns that he may be sidelined for an extended period of time as the Blues strive to secure a top-five position in the Premier League.
The Brazilian custodian exited City’s comeback victory over Crystal Palace last week after recording his fourth assist of the season, prompting initial concerns that he may be unable to participate in a significant portion of the team’s final seven matches. City is currently in fifth place in the Premier League, where they are vying for three of the available slots with five other teams.
The Premier League has secured an additional spot, which will ensure that the top five teams qualify for the Champions League next season. Nevertheless, Nottingham Forest in fourth and Aston Villa in seventh are separated by a mere three points, with Newcastle only two points clear of Forest. Nevertheless, Phil Foden and Manu Akanji have both resumed their training, which is a positive development.
Foden was unable to participate in the Palace victory due to an injury, while Akanji is expected to make his return this month after being sidelined since February. Guardiola stated, “Phil returned to the team on Thursday, and we conducted a training session today in light of the events that transpired at Old Trafford.”
Manu participates in two or three training sessions and is exhibiting exceptional mobility. Today will supply the answer. Erling Haaland is also accelerating his rehabilitation after injuring his ankle three weeks ago. He has shared videos of himself working out in the gym at the City Football Academy, and he appears to be in good spirits.
