The official injury update for Alexander Isak is as follows. Before Newcastle United’s crucial matches against West Ham United and Liverpool, Eddie Howe is keeping his toes crossed regarding Alexander Isak’s level of fitness.
After missing the previous match at Liverpool in the Premier League due to a groin issue, Isak was compelled to leave the pitch during Newcastle’s 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. The striker was photographed training independently on Wednesday, amid concerns that his availability for Monday’s match against West Ham (8 p.m. kick-off) would be uncertain.
The striker has scored 22 goals in all competitions for Newcastle this season and netted a brace in the 2-2 stalemate at the London Stadium last season. Isak has also scored three goals in five appearances against Liverpool, which will culminate in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
