Reason why Newcastle United F.C. manager Eddie Howe turn down the role as England new coach
The manager of the Magpies might be the best person to replace Gareth Southgate, but he should stay at St. James’ Park.
Okay, enough is enough. Let’s bring some sense to the discussion. Come on, let’s face facts. All of us have been blinded by the calls for Eddie Howe to become the next England manager after Gareth Southgate’s quick, but completely expected, and fine, exit.
There are many reasons for this. What a great choice Howe is for the FA. He is politically correct and leads with a sense of dignity, which is exactly what is needed. Fans want a boss like him after Southgate put the brakes on too much. Once more, right. He is a great coach who makes players better. Unlike Cloughie, he doesn’t like controversy and doesn’t say things that make people scratch their heads to start a national discussion. Again, everything is right.
I see what you mean and agree. He’s the best choice.
Let me tell you the truth. Why Newcastle United will definitely kick the FA suits out, and why Eddie himself needs to stop thinking about joining the national team. When the knock on the door comes, which it will, I’m sure both will happen.
Chief executive Darren Eales spoke beautifully from United’s pre-season training camp in Germany about how the club would strongly reject any FA approach. Howe will no doubt be asked a lot of similar questions on Friday during his second Zoom call with the press. He will definitely say again how much he loves NUFC. But it’s one thing to turn down a job that hasn’t even been offered; it’s a whole other thing to do it when you have an offer.
So, let me tell you a few facts. Right now, you should be in St. James’ Park, not St. George’s Park. Eddie, this club holds your dreams and can make them come true. You worked hard for three years to get where you are now, and it wouldn’t make sense for you to quit right before history is being made.
United went from being in danger of being relegated to being in the top four of the Premier League, playing in the Champions League, and making it to the Wembley Cup final in very little time. It has reached greatness and will definitely taste it in due time.
Howe has dragged us up by the bootstraps. His players and fans love him, he can buy the best players instead of having to settle for what his heritage gives him, and most importantly, he can work every day on the training pitch, which is where he does his best work. In contrast, the England manager only manages a few games a year and goes on short 10-day training camps once in a while. He or she spends the rest of the weeks and months traveling all over the country to watch many players who are not up to acceptable standards. The England manager can sometimes be a pain to deal with.
If you lose a game with the national team, it makes headlines for weeks. If you lose at club level, you can make up for it in the next game, which is only a few days away.
Young men shouldn’t do it. When you are full of energy and ideas, daily contact is what counts. It makes you feel like you are at the center of the universe all the time. One who has worked as a foreign manager before. Howe might be great for England, but not right now. In the end.
On top of that, Newcastle United has many chances to win trophies. Think about the next effort. Howe can tip his hat to the League Cup and FA Cup. He can try to get into the Champions League, which would give him the chance to play in four different tournaments the following season.
Every four years, England plays in the World Cup, and every other year, they are the European Champions. There are only qualifiers and matches in between.
Though, those who are stirring up trouble will say that England may have a chance, and not just because of the call to arms: “Your country needs you.” It’s also because of the time. It is said that Howe just lost his head of sports, Dan Ashworth, and his great boardroom supporter, Amanda Staveley.
That’s possible, but football is a very fluid game. Things change all the time. Joey loves Matt Ritchie, but he just broke up with him. He said over and over that he loved Maxi but sold him to Saudi Arabia.
