Prior to the hour mark, Alejandro Garnacho was taken off of Manchester United’s Premier League match at the Community Stadium against Brentford.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, said Alejandro Garnacho was “okay,” even though he was substituted early in the Premier League tie with Brentford.

Antony took over for Garnacho in the 59th minute at the Community Stadium. He went straight down the tunnel and didn’t come back for the rest of the game.

On Tuesday night, the 19-year-old played in Argentina’s friendly win over Argentina in Los Angeles. He came back in time for United’s training session at Carrington on Thursday.

“He’s fine,” Ten Hag said. “Of course, he had a heavy trip but he is okay.”

Ten Hag also said that Raphael Varane’s removal during the break was for safety reasons. Varane stopped so Harry Maguire could replace him. In the 69th minute, fellow center back Victor Lindelof was taken off, and Lisandro Martinez came on for his first game in eight weeks after healing from damage to his medial collateral ligament.

On Sunday, Lindelof will be checked out before United’s next Premier League game, which is on Thursday away at Chelsea.

The Ten Hag replied, “I can’t tell,” when asked how bad the injuries were. “We took Rapha off as a precaution at half-time and Victor we have to assess tomorrow.”

The gap between United and fourth-placed Aston Villa, who have the last sure spot in the Champions League, has grown to 11 points.

Spurs are in fifth place, which means they could make it to the event if England finish in the top two of the Uefa seasonal coefficients. United has nine games left and is eight points behind Spurs.

“Still many games to go but, of course, the points will be more expensive by the end,” said Ten Hag. The number of items should have been three, but now there is only one.

Our plan for how to make it work will be clear by the end. It might be a big deal at the end, though.
