Returning from injury, the Barcelona rising sensation may be unable to participate in the games against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Bayern Munich and Real Madrid games may be missed by Barcelona’s rising sensation, who is recovering from an injury. All eyes are on the return of midfield hero Gavi as Barcelona prepares to face
Sevilla at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys tomorrow. The 20-year-old sensation from La Masia will return to the squad after an 11-month absence due to an ACL injury that has kept him incapacitated since November of last year. Gavi has been conducting his training routine as usual for the past month and is prepared to receive his medical clearance in order to make his reappearance against Sevilla. Gavi is scheduled to participate in the match against Sevilla, but he will be given a break in the following encounters. Barcelona currently has a strategy in place to gradually integrate Gavi into the club without overburdening him and risking a relapse, according to AS. Therefore, the plan is for the 20-year-old Spaniard to participate in a limited number of minutes against Sevilla tomorrow, but subsequently refrain from participating in the matches against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich next week.
The midfield prodigy would return for the derby against RCD Espanyol in the first week of November. The rationale behind the decision to rest Gavi against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid next week is that both of these matches are high-pressure, high-octane, and there is a risk associated with him playing them so soon after an 11-month absence. Flick intends for Gavi’s return to the team to be progressive, and he is not anticipated to play more than 20 or 30 minutes in his initial games after eleven months of inactivity. Although the adolescent appears to be in good health, it is anticipated that his peak performance will not occur until February. He is physically healthy; however, he requires a competitive rhythm. Therefore, Barcelona may exercise greater caution in light of the fact that his participation in the critical matches against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid would have been a significant advantage.
