Ruben Amorim addresses the rumours of Man Utd’s dismissal subsequent to their 12th Premier League loss.
Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Manchester United, maintains that he is “not concerned” about the possibility of losing his position, despite the fact that his initial three months in the position have been exceedingly difficult.
Amorim was hired in November to replace the dismissed Erik ten Hag. United activated a break clause in his contract with Sporting CP to promptly bring the Portuguese manager to England.
The 40-year-old has been regarded as one of the most promising managerial prospects in Europe in recent seasons. He successfully ended Sporting’s lengthy Primeira Liga title drought in 2020/21, won again in 2023/24, and left the club on track for another title after a
remarkable start to 2024/25 before departing However, Amorim has introduced a distinct style of play to United that is entirely distinct from the one that Ten Hag’s squad was accustomed to. He is resolute in his commitment to implementing his own ideas rather than compromising.
The manager has advocated for the notion of enduring temporary discomfort in order to achieve long-term success, as he has not been able to influence the squad in accordance with his philosophy during the summer transfer window or preseason.
The problem, however, is that the results have been subpar, with Sunday’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur being the ninth in 21 games. Additionally, the team has only achieved four victories in 14 Premier League matches, with five league games being lost in December alone.
