Sack demand as Manchester city goalkeeper Ederson reveals who he’s backing for the Ballon d’Or award between his teammate Rodri or Real Madrid player Vinicius Jr
It is speculated that the Ballon d’Or for this year may be awarded to either Vinicius Jr. of Real Madrid or Rodri of Manchester City.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or will be awarded later this month, and a significant number of Man City fans believe that Rodri would be a deserving recipient. For the past few years, the Spaniard has been at the vanguard of the club’s success.
He is now, in due course, beginning to receive individual recognition.
He has been vital to Manchester City for an extended period of time. Regrettably, he will be unable to participate for an extended period of time due to the injury he has sustained to his knee ligaments. Rodri’s injury left fans in a state of mourning, with many already marking down the days until his return.
It is my sincere hope that the injury will not have an adverse effect on his prospects of winning the Ballon d’Or. Rodri’s teammate, Ederson, who also plays with Vinicius Jr for Brazil, has been discussing the honor and has now disclosed his selection for the 2024 award. Ederson endorses Vinicius Jr. for the Ballon d’Or in preference to Rodri. Last month, it was reported that Vinicius Jr. is expected to secure the Ballon d’Or victory over Rodri. However, City supporters will be optimistic that the assertion is inaccurate. Ederson expressed his opinion to TNT Sports Brazil that he would not object to Vinicius defeating Rodri.
He played a critical role in the club’s victory in the Champions League and La Liga, scoring 24 goals and providing 11 assists in 39 appearances.
Vinicius, of course, scored in Real’s 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the final. Vinicius has performed exceptionally well this season, contributing four goals and seven assists in 12 appearances.
Rodri is deserving of the Ballon d’Or. Ederson’s modest endorsement of Vinicius for the Ballon d’Or over Rodri, a player with whom he frequently collaborates, is intriguing.
This will likely come as a bit of a surprise to many City fans who are adamant that Rodri should triumph. He is capable of controlling games, safeguarding the backline, and even offering an attacking threat, as demonstrated by his nine goals and 14 assists from the previous season.
Rodri rarely experiences a subpar performance for either City or Spain, and he would be a highly merited recipient. Even the German legend Lothar Matthaus declared that Rodri would be deserving of the award.
It appears that Vinicius may be the recipient this time, which would be disheartening for a significant number of City fans, despite the Brazilian’s exceptional performance.
