This week, Newcastle United has been conducting a preseason training program at Adidas Headquarters in Germany.

Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon, Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Martin Dubravka, and Miguel Almiron, who have yet to return from international duty this summer, have been added to the Magpies’ first team squad for the voyage.

The journey has also afforded Newcastle’s summer recruits the chance to assimilate into the squad in a close-knit environment in Herzogenaurach.

Newcastle’s pre-season preparations have intensified this week, and goalkeepers John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos, as well as defender Lloyd Kelly, have been training with their new teammates at the state-of-the-art facility.

Additionally, footage from Germany has provided a distinct indication of the squad number of each new signing for the 2024-25 season. The club has previously confirmed that Kelly will wear the No. 25 shirt this upcoming season. Lewis Hall, who was previously on loan from Chelsea, is presently wearing the No. 20 shirt after his loan was made permanent.

Training photos have disclosed that Vlachodimos has been assigned the No. 19 shirt, which was left vacant by Javier Manquillo’s departure for Celta Vigo in January. Ruddy has been donning the No. 26 shirt during training.

The squad number of winger Harvey Barnes has been altered from No. 15 to No. 11, as a result of Matt Ritchie’s departure this summer. Jamie Miley, a young midfielder, is currently training with the first squad in Germany, wearing the number 35. He previously wore the number 47 last season.

Newcastle will return from Germany this weekend, followed by visits to Hull, Tokyo, and the Sela Weekender at St James’ Park in anticipation of the upcoming season.
