The reason for the delay in the trophy presentation following Celtic’s penalty shootout victory over Rangers
The reason for the delay in the trophy presentation following Celtic’s penalty shootout victory over RangersOn Monday morning, Celtic supporters would have awakened with a radiant expression on their faces.
Celtic’s League Cup final victory over Rangers at Hampden was breathtakingly dramatic, despite the numerous heart-stopping moments and the difficulty of the game.
After a Greg Taylor error, Rangers scored the opening goal, and the first-half performance was significantly lower than the standards that Celtic supporters have come to expect this season.
However, the game was turned on its head during a goal-frenzy and all-action second half, and the Bhoys were in the lead by the hour mark. Rangers responded by scoring.
The game appeared to be won by Nicolas Kuhn just minutes before the end of the regular time frame.
However, the scriptwriters were not yet finished, as the scores were leveled again moments later. That resulted in extra time, which lacked the intensity of normal time.
However, the nerve-wracking penalties culminated in Daizen Maeda scoring the winning penalty after Kasper Schmeichel saved Rıdvan Yılmaz’s penalty.
Celtic’s trophy presentation was postponed following the supporters’ celebration. The spectators, coaching staff, and players are not to be held accountable for any feelings of relief, as the game is inherently unpredictable.
However, as you can imagine, the fans in the stands were unable to contain their excitement following the final siren, with a number of them jumping onto the running track.
Emma Dodds, in an interview with Premier Sports (15/12/24), quipped that Celtic’s supporters were “fans of Premier Sports” because they began celebrating with the broadcaster’s advertising boards, which subsequently delayed the team’s trophy celebration.
“The trophy collection by Celtic has been postponed due to the Celtic fans’ entry onto the track,” stated Dodds. “The fans have been instructed to return to the stands.” The trophy presentation is unable to proceed.
It is evident that they are avid supporters of Premier Sports, as evidenced by the fact that they are transporting our Premier Sports boards home (see the accompanying images of fans lifting the Premier Sports board).
This is the reason for the slight delay.Kyogo Furuhashi teases Celtic supporters following the team’s victory over Rangers.
Kyogo Furuhashi has an exceptional reputation of scoring goals against Rangers; however, he was unable to enhance it during his 76-minute stint on the field.
The Celtic team is fortunate to have two exceptional strikers to choose from, with Adam Idah performing admirably in the shootout after coming off the bench.
Additionally, Kyogo was unable to resist the urge to tease the fans while the players were reveling on the field, as the cameras of Premier Sports captured the activity.
