As Celtic and Fenerbahce are being mentioned, the summer transfer rumor mill is beginning to flare up.
There is considerable speculation regarding Celtic’s prospective acquisitions this summer, particularly in relation to the striker position that remains vacant following Kyogo Furuhashi’s departure in January.
However, it is possible that the most advantageous agreement the Scottish champions will reach is to retain Daizen Maeda for the forthcoming season.
The 27-year-old scored 33 goals in all competitions, securing the double during the recently concluded campaign.
Maeda’s performances earned him the PFA Player of the Year award, which sparked increased interest in him in the transfer market, including from Turkish titans Fenerbahce.
Celtic transfer connections with Daizen Maeda elicit a mixed response from Fenerbahce fans.
Fenerbahce is in the same position as Rangers in Scotland, as they are unable to dethrone the best team in their country after Galatasaray was crowned champions during the most recent season.
The Fener dugout is currently occupied by Jose Mourinho, and there is speculation that they are interested in signing Maeda this summer for a reported £25 million.
However, the Fenerbahce fans are divided regarding the signing of Maeda, especially in light of the fee that was mentioned, as they have expressed on social media.
Maeda is believed to be headed for the Premier League by @h_aloglu: If I am not mistaken, he is the most in-form and prolific wing forward in all divisions this season, with over 30 goals and double-digit assists. It is highly probable that he will be promoted to the Premier League.
@fenerbahceorgs desires Sancho in place of Maeda: “Instead of purchasing this, purchase Sancho.”
Maeda’s refusal to perform in Turkey is explicated by @Atil1907: “Excessively good.” However, this will not occur in Turkey. Numerous European teams are already interested in his services.
@NigelOnFire18 desires a more established celebrity: ‘Select players who have demonstrated their abilities in the major leagues.’
@Naib1907 is grateful. Maeda, however, would prefer to negotiate with another individual for the “£25m” price. “Not a particularly poor football player…” Nevertheless, I would acquire Noa Lang from PSV for the amount I would be willing to pay for this.
