‘Totally untrue’ – Ruud van Nistelrooy defends Man United’s star player following Leicester’s victory.
The interim manager of Manchester United, Ruud van Nistelrooy, issued a fervent defense of Casemiro
following his brace on Wednesday night. Following Erik ten Hag’s departure on Monday, Van Nistelrooy was appointed as United’s interim manager. In his inaugural encounter as manager, the team secured a resounding victory over Leicester. In the 15th minute, Casemiro scored a world-class strike from 25 yards that found the top right corner. United held a 4-2 lead at the break, due to goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes, and another from Casemiro.
United advanced to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with minimal controversy after Fernandes scored the game-winning goal in the second half, ending the match at 5-2. Speaking to MUTV full-time, Van Nistelrooy stated, “I could not have asked for anything more.” Unbelievable, the initial goal was scored in the top corner, and the finish was sensational. Additionally, today was a day of serendipity, I must admit. We were fortunate to have the double post in our favor, as we were able to return to Casemiro and the Bruno deflection. However, we were elated for him because the first shot was successful. Afterward, you observe that additional objectives are approaching. “I am also overjoyed for him.” Garna scored a well-executed goal, Diogo provided an excellent assist, and what was the other goal? Have I satisfactorily addressed each of the five objectives? I had an excellent time. The Dutchman expressed his satisfaction with Casemiro’s performance against Leicester, stating that he was “delighted” that the Brazilian had scored twice after undergoing a character-assessing period. “I was overjoyed for Casemiro.” “The manner in which he has been training and assisting the team and the club is a prime example,” he continued.
Additionally, you observe the audience’s response, and they are aware of his message. I am thrilled to have him in my life, and he has been through some challenging times. He received a significant amount of criticism following the Liverpool game. It is incredibly difficult to accept, as he was nearly responsible for the outcome of that game. It is unjust, he did not deserve it, and it is entirely untrue. However, when you observe him train and prepare for games, and consider his history and the five Champions Leagues he has won, he serves as an inspiration for us. This was a component of my celebration; I was ecstatic for him. Van Nistelrooy also commended Fernandes for his objectives. “It’s fantastic, I wasn’t worried about him because I see him every day in training, the way he prepares and helps the team,” he indicated. “He is assuming a significant amount of responsibility in order to assist the players and the club.” He is accountable for all aspects of the club, and today, he was unoccupied. I advised him to perform well. I advised him to relish the experience, and I was overjoyed when he scored his initial goal. Subsequently, the goals began to flow, and I am optimistic that they will continue.
