It has been speculated that Celtic are interested in acquiring Jung Ho-Yeon during the January transfer window, and it appears that they are getting close to extending their Asian roster this month.

The standout player for Gwangju FC is getting closer to making a move to European football, and his manager, Lee Jung-Hyo, has lately stated that a move to the Scottish Premiership Champions is in the works and is progressing.

After contributing to the team’s third-place finish in the domestic competition, the midfielder was awarded the Young Player of the Year award in the K-League in his home country. There has been a severe dearth of something different in the middle of the park for the Hoops for quite some time now. The engine room guy, who is highly rated in South Korea, is allegedly a good tackler and might give that something different for the Hoops.

When asked directly about the possibility, Celtic was mentioned as the team that the player is expected to move to during the upcoming transfer window. The player has disclosed that he is expected to move to a European club. The following is a quote from him that was reported by Chosun: “A move into Europe is slowly getting closer.” In the course of the previous season, scouts from a number of European clubs, including Celtic, traveled to personally observe me playing. If I had the opportunity to select a league, I would like to compete in the Spanish Primera Liga. Since I was a young child, I have always admired the way FC Barcelona plays football.

If this one turns out to be true, then it will have to be a success because the club currently does not have the financial resources to provide players with grace periods and time to adjust to their new roles. Both Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu have joined the Scottish club, but none of them has yet reached the level of success that they are capable of. However, as things stand, Celtic have a backlog of players that we need to either permanently clear off the books or develop elsewhere in the meantime. This is not to say that they cannot become good players in the future; there is a possibility that they will become good players in the future.
