After beating Livingston in a thrilling game at Parkhead, Celtic is now in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Three goals by Daizen Maeda on his 100th appearance for the club, along with a late goal by Kyogo Furuhashi, were enough to send the Bhoys to the last four. However, Daniel McKay and Tete Yengi scored for the guests to level the game.

Still, Brendan Rodgers’ team deserved to win, and the Irish manager praised his team for how they dealt with “disruption” before the cup match.

The Irish manager said this about the changes he had to make to the team: “The players deserve credit for that.” Some of them haven’t played much. Nick Kuhn came in after not playing and Matt O’Riley wasn’t feeling well all week. Stephen Welsh came in at the last minute. In the end, the guys got the job done, even though there was some trouble.

Looking ahead, we are still waiting to hear who our opponents will be at Hampden. They will be named tonight after the game between Greenock Morton and Heart of Midlothian is over.

Fans who want to watch can do so live on BBC Scotland. During the half-time break at Cappielow, fans can also watch the draw for the Women’s Scottish Cup semi-final.

Joe Hart made a big save on Michael Nottingham’s header just before the hour mark, which would have given Livingston the lead at Parkhead and helped the Bhoys win 4–2.

The former England player went on Instagram after his team secured their spot at Hampden and was clearly excited for his friend Maeda’s hat-trick, writing, “into the semis (followed by a green heart emoji) superb today @m_daizen0827.”

Hart also used a bow emoji and another green heart to sum up a good day at work for Celtic, which Maeda greatly affected by being aware of his position.

Without a question, we needed to respond to the disappointing loss at Tynecastle to Heart of Midlothian. From our point of view, we now have a lot to build on going into our home game against St. Johnstone this weekend.
