After Reo Hatate’s latest injury setback, Brendan Rodgers gave Celtic fans an update on the player.

This season, Hatate has only been able to start seven games for the Bhoys. He and his fans, who loved his play so much last season, have had a difficult season.

He was hurt at first in October and December, but he got better in time to go to the Asian Cup with Japan.

He picked up another problem while on international service, which is too bad, and he has been out since.

Now, the Celtic manager says he should be back in group training by the middle of the month. However, he might not play in a game until the end of March or the beginning of April.

Reo Hatate is getting close to Celtic’s return

In a Celtic FC press conference this afternoon, Rodgers was asked about the Japanese international. He said, “Hopefully it’ll be before the international break in terms of being with the squad, but he may not be available to play until after the international break.”

It’s going really well, and we’ll be glad to have him back.

When Hatate is healthy, driven, and on the team, he can be fun to watch. He didn’t quite have a good season in 2023–24, but if he can come back and make a big difference in the last few games, he’ll be a hero again right away.

There is some good news: it sounds like he might be able to play in the April 7th match against Rangers.

Hatate’s big return is most likely to happen in the away game against Livingston, if the staff agrees that he can play on a plastic pitch. This is according to Rodgers’ most recent schedule.

He might be able to make the team for the trip to Ibrox if he plays in that one. He always does great in the derby, so it would be great to see him play, even if it’s just as a replacement.
