Celtic is getting close to the end of the transfer window, but they still have a lot of work to do.

So far, January has been a pretty bad month for fans. Nicolas Kuhn, on the other hand, has come from Rapid Vienna and could play his first game this weekend against Ross County.

On top of that, Brendan Rodgers has shown that he doesn’t mind when players leave Parkhead to play for another team.

Yosuke Ideguchi has left to become a regular member of Vissel Kobe. But Hyeokkyu Kwon and Adam Montgomery have been loaned to St. Mirren and Motherwell, respectively.

Celtic can find out if a player is good enough to play a role at the club in the future by sending them out on loan. In the past, Liam Scales, Kristoffer Ajer, and Ryan Christie are all examples of this.

Gustaf Lagerbielke

As a result, soocer  take a look at three players Rodgers might try to trade before the transfer window closes.

Mikey Johnston

Finally, Mikey Johnston may not have as many chances at the club now that former Germany Under-20 international Kuhn has joined.

After a few months away from Parkhead, the Republic of Ireland player has done well since coming back. He has scored two goals and set up two others in 11 games for Celtic, according to Transfermarkt.

The Bhoys will have too many choices on the flanks once Daizen Maeda, Yang Hyun-jun, and Marco Tilio, who was already set to leave the AFC Asian Cup, come back.

Rodgers has already said that Johnston needs to do more to become a Celtic player, and it’s still not clear if he will stay at Parkhead.

Gustaf Lagerbielke

This is based more on chance than opinion, since Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph has already said that Celtic are willing to listen to bids for Gustaf Lagerbielke.

Several different news sources say that Hellas Verona, Genoa, and Lecce could all be in it for the £3 million summer deal this month.

Reports say that Rodgers is okay with the 23-year-old going for a short time to help free up money for wages.

Lagerbielke has only played nine times this season across all categories. For two main reasons [Transfermarkt], a loan could be the best option for his future.

It’s possible for the Swedish player to do well somewhere else and then come back ready to make a mark with the first team.

On the other hand, a few good games could raise his value before he is sold permanently in the future.

Bernabei Alexandro

After joining Celtic for £3.75 million from Lanus in 2022 [Sky Sports], Alexandro Bernabei is another player who was a pretty expensive but not very good addition.

While the 23-year-old has only played 23 times for Glasgow, he has scored one goal and set up three others [Transfermarkt], writer Tim Vickery called him a “intelligent piece of scouting” from the Scottish champions.

As of 2023–24, the Argentine has only played 71 minutes of league games after coming on as a replacement four times.

The Scottish Sun said last month that teams in Italy and his home country wanted to sign him this month. Celtic should do whatever it takes to get him off their books.
