Former Celtic player Chris Sutton reveals his reasons why he believes Celtic F.C would till win the League next season 2024/25 and defeat Rangers for a long time
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton said on Saturday that the team is in a good situation to leave rivals Rangers in the dust for a long time.
Celtic just finished a season in which they won two trophies under the leadership of Brendan Rodgers, who has already won nine trophies as Bhoys manager.
With plenty of money, the desire to make improvements in the transfer market, and the promise of more money from the UEFA Champions League, Sutton thinks this is the right chance for Celtic to get far away from the Ibrox club.
Celtic are likely to make some big moves in the next few weeks and months, but the Bhoys haven’t really signed anyone yet.
As the new season approaches, Sutton sees a chance for Celtic to “chase” their foes and have even more success.
According to Sutton, Celtic could “sail away” from Rangers.
The Daily Record quoted him as saying, “Brendan Rodgers had a gap between him and Rangers the first time around.” If Celtic does the right thing this summer, after being pushed by the Ibrox club for a while last season, he has a great chance to make another gap. The team is back for preseason training, and Rodgers is in a much better position than he was a year ago. This is the start of the second part of his second spell.
It’s possible for Rodgers and Celtic to beat Rangers and get back to that rare level when playing the best teams in Europe if they make the right moves over the next couple of months. As the saying goes, you should never look over the fence. Celtic doesn’t care what Rangers are doing. They’re going to take care of their own issues. But from the outside, it looks like they have a great chance to get ahead of their biggest competitors.
“Winning the title last year brought an extra £40 million to Parkhead and kept it out of the Ibrox accounts.” That severely limits what each club can do in this transfer window, and it gives Celtic a huge chance to move even further ahead. Although Philippe Clement needs to rebuild his team, the fact that his bosses don’t seem very smart about rebuilding parts of the stadium isn’t helping.
“If they make the right moves with the players they want to get, they might be able to make that much-anticipated impact in Europe, and they can leave Rangers far behind in the UK. When Celtic beat them in the Scottish Cup Final last year, they added another prize to their collection. Going by all the talk at Ibrox about getting title No. 55 during Steven Gerrard’s time in charge, Rodgers can lead his team to title No. 55 this coming season. It’s possible for him to help Celtic win more trophies than their main foes. Sailing them far away into the distance is also needed.
Celtic have a test coming up this summer.
Not an easy task will it be to get that transfer action right. It’s a tough market, and Celtic will be in it for players that teams all over Europe want.
Rodgers has been very clear that he only wants to add players that will make his team better overall. Talented people won’t just show up to fill the seats.
Even so, Celtic needs to be determined to reach their goals. As Sutton said, they have the tools to make sure that talks about seven-figure fees go smoothly.
This summer, no one wants to see arguments over a few hundred thousand here and there. Get the guys the manager wants and set up more wins for Celtic.
