“He has huge potential”- Erik ten Hag wants to fast track United legend’s son into the first team.
“He possesses tremendous potential,” said Erik ten Hag desires to expedite the son of a United legend’s promotion to the first team. The 16-year-old son of a Manchester United legend has been expedited by Erik t en-Hag to first-team training at Carrington.
Ten Hag has consistently demonstrated a willingness to place trust in his junior players, even during challenging periods for United.
Ten Hag has notably incorporated Alejandro Garnacho into the first team; the Argentine was instrumental in the club’s third-place finish in the previous campaign.
In the 23/24 season, the 19-year-old has experienced a remarkable transformation, most recently scoring against Galatasaray. However, his sensational bicycle kick against Everton stands out as his most notable achievement.United drew 3-3 in Istanbul, and Mainoo, who appeared to have been playing at the highest level for decades, also impressed with a cameo appearance in the second half.
Given the remarkable achievements of the youth team at Manchester United, it is unsurprising that Ten Hag is considering acquiring additional academy products. The 16-year-old son of former United player Darren Fletcher, who was summoned up for first-team training prior to their Champions League match, is the most recent teen to receive the green light from the gaffer.
Jack Fletcher, despite having practised with the team, did not accompany the travelling party to the match.Fletcher has reportedly been a subject of interest for the United manager for a considerable period of time.
“Ten Hag has been watching Jack closely for several months now and has been really impressed,” according to an informant. They proceeded: “At this time, Ten Hag is collaborating with his staff to devise a strategy to accelerate and develop Jack’s progress.
“He thinks he has huge potential which is why he decided to promote him to train with the first team last week.”
A potential loan is considered the most favorable course of action for the teenager, as United seeks to provide Fletcher with as many first-team minutes as feasible.
