‘He has the potential to become World-class player in future if He is well taken care of’ – Ferdinand says Man Utd’s misfiring star has potential to become ‘world-class’.
“If properly cared for, he has the potential to develop into a world-class player in the future.” – Ferdinand claims that the misfiring Manchester United star is capable of becoming “world-class.”Rio Ferdinand, a legendary figure at Manchester United, has stated that although Marcus Rashford is not currently a world-class player, he has the capacity to develop into one in the future. The forward, who graduated from the academy of the Manchester United Red Devils, has emerged as a pivotal member of the reigning Premier League champions.
Last season, he recorded a career-high thirty goals and nine assists in fifty-six appearances across all competitions. However, the 26-year-old has struggled to maintain his impressive form this season, and as a consequence, Erik ten Hag has removed him from the starting eleven.
Now, when asked in an interview with talkSPORT (via Five) whether Marcus Rashford is a world-class forward, Ferdinand responded that the former defender does not believe so due to Rashford’s inability to consistently perform at his peak.On the contrary, Ferdinand asserts that Marcus Rashford is an exceptionally gifted athlete with the capacity to develop into a global superstar in the coming years.
Analysis: Rashford has the capacity to reach world-class status.
Ferdinand declared:
“No! That he is not. His potential is world-class, but I do not believe he is a world-class player. He has not continued to substantiate it for an extended period of time. In my opinion, [to be] world-class, one must attain and maintain a certain level of excellence over time. At the moment, he appears in a state of flurries. There are times when you think, “Oh my!” He completely zaps your oxygen. “He accomplishes feats that are uncommon on a global scale, and he is phenomenal.”
Rashford is undeniably a player of extraordinary ability and possesses the qualities necessary to propel his team to victory on their own. However, he is an inconsistent player, and it seems improbable that he will be able to attain his full potential given that he has already turned 26.
Hence, should he fail to consistently exhibit his peak performance moving forward, it will be intriguing to observe whether Manchester United choose to retain him at the club.Rashford is undeniably a player of extraordinary ability and possesses the qualities necessary to propel his team to victory on their own. Recent contract negotiations between the forward and his boyhood club resulted in a mammoth extension of his current agreement until 2028. Therefore, United’s pursuit of cashing in on him next season will likely be difficult.
In the coming months, it will be intriguing to see whether or not Marcus Rashford can reverse his fortunes at Old Trafford.
