Manchester United, is set to join Fernandez at Old Trafford today, marking the conclusion of Manchester United’s second January acquisition. The player has informed his transfer rivals that he is keen on joining United.United are rumored to be interested in signing Ryan Sessegnon from Tottenham Hotspur, following Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s exclusion.United and Tottenham completed a single transfer in August when Sergio Reguilon came from Tottenham on loan.

The injury-plagued Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were temporarily replaced by the Spaniard.

Now that Reguilon has been sent back to Tottenham, United may be without a left back and rumors have circulated that they are interested in another player from Spurs. In Friday’s Reading the Game column, Miguel Delaney of The Independent stated that United’s discussions with Tottenham have increased the likelihood of Ryan Sessegnon moving to Old Trafford.

Ryan Sessegnon may be available to Manchester United at last

With Sessesgnon surfacing as a possible January signing, United may add a left back to their roster, replacing one of Tottenham’s current players.

On Friday night, the 23-year-old made Spurs’ FA Cup victory over Burnley his season debut, coming off the bench to play seven minutes.

United may now think a deal is possible, but it is still unknown what role Sessegnon will play under Ange Postecoglou.

Ever since he emerged as a sensation at Fulham, United had been said to be interested in signing Sessegnon.

Jose Mourinho reportedly intended to pay £25 million to sign Sessegnon to United in December 2017, according to The Guardian.

Even though that transfer fell through, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was once again interested in signing Sessegnon in the summer of 2019.followed in his footsteps.

Although Sessegnon ultimately joined Tottenham, Erik ten Hag has a chance to step in where Mourinho and Solskjaer failed, with rumors of a transfer to Old Trafford circulating.

As of now, Sessesgnon has failed to achieve his full potential.

United may aim to get Sessegnon back on track, but much will rely on when they expect Malacia to return.

After being predicted to become a superstar, Sessegnon has let Tottenham down time and time again during his nearly five years with the club.

With Son Heung-min on the field, it’s tough for Sessegnon to play left flank, and he’s never fully found his niche as a left back.

The promising youngster from Fulham has struggled to establish himself at Tottenham, but a move to United might be the catalyst he needs to restart his career.

United appear to be pursuing a trade for Sessegnon, over six years after initially eyeing him, which is an odd situation since Spurs allowed one left back to depart in order to bring in another.
