Manchester United player Amad Diallo praised Lisandro Martinez for helping him get better after getting hurt during a tough season. Martinez is still getting fit and fighting for his spot in Erik ten Hag’s plans, and Amad is the latest person to praise his leadership skills.

The winger, who is 21 years old, was set for a big season after a good loan stint at Sunderland last year, where he scored 14 goals and set up 4 others in 42 games.

However, Amad hurt his knee badly on United’s pre-season tour of the United States and couldn’t play for five months. In December, he returned to first-team training.

In United’s 2-1 loss at Nottingham Forest on December 30, he played his first 36 minutes. Since then, he has been a substitute but not used in three games.

Amad recently talked about Martinez as a teammate who helped him get better after an unfortunate accident. He wants to make a name for himself before the end of the season.

“I love Lisandro very much. My opinion of him goes beyond a player. He controls things. “He was hurt when I was hurt, so he really helped me,” Amad said.

“He spoke to me a lot and told me not to worry about the injury, and the main thing was to stay positive and work hard to get back into the team, so I did what he and everyone else said.”


Martinez has also been hurt this season. He had a recurrence of the foot problem that kept him out for the end of his first season in England.

The World Cup winner, who is 26 years old, came back to play in January, but he could only play four times before his medial collateral ligament in his knee gave him new trouble.

He will probably be out for another six to eight weeks. During his short time back on the field, he showed United what they had been missing while he was away.

After Martinez’s latest loss, the Dutchman said, “You can see how much he helps the team when he plays. He brings more than just technical skills to the team; he also brings a way of thinking.”

“This is bad news for Licha. He is very upset, but he is a fighter, so he will be back better than ever. Our guess is that he will be back by the end of the season.
