Manchester City and Juventus “are planning an immediate meeting” to prevent a star from joining Manchester United.

Juventus and Manchester City are expected to engage in discussions regarding January transfer business. In light of interest from Manchester United, Juventus reportedly arranged an immediate meeting with Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips prior to the January transfer window in an effort to convince the Englishman to transfer to the Allianz Stadium.Phillips has been a bench warmer for Manchester City since his £42 million acquisition from Leeds United in the summer of 2022. Having appeared in the Premier League for a mere sixteen times in the past year and a half, he is rumored to be considering a transfer away in the New Year.Pep Guardiola alluded to this during his press conference following Manchester City’s 2-1 victory over Luton Town over the weekend. When asked if Phillips would be transferred the following month, the Catalan coach responded, “I have no idea what will occur. My apologies are profound regarding the choice I made for him. It’s been stated numerous times.

“I am so regretful that he has suffered something that he in no way merits. I can only say that he exemplifies the quality of excellent personalities and characters that I seek, and that is all I can say about him. “Thereafter, I was obligated to give him something, but I failed to do so.”It is simply due to the fact that I find it difficult to see him when I contemplate certain details and the team as a whole. [With myself] I am not particularly delighted, and I am so sorry for him. I must maintain a professional demeanor and refrain from saying that to him, as it pertains to business.Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Phillips’ most probable exit from the club is to Juventus. It has been reported that the Italian powers have increased their pursuit of the player in recent days. Cristiano Giuntoli, the sporting director of Juventus, reportedly has a “immediately scheduled” meeting with Manchester City to negotiate a potential transfer.
