Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola reveals the name of the three (3) teams his scared of to play against in the UEFA Champions League
Man City will find out who they will play in the quarterfinals of the Champions League on Friday morning.
Man City’s boss, Pep Guardiola, has already said that he doesn’t want to play Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, or Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarterfinals that are being drawn today.
In Nyon, Switzerland, at 11 a.m. UK time, the draws for the quarter-finals and the semi-finals will take place. City beat FC Copenhagen 6-2 over two games, making it to the last eight without much trouble.
The first leg was won by City 3-1 in Denmark. The second leg was won by City 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium last week. This meant that they had a good chance of keeping their European title. In the last 16, the winner would play the runner-up from the group stage. In the quarter-finals and semi-finals, there are no seeds, so anyone can play anyone.
The last time City got the prize, they showed that you have to beat the best teams to get it. To avoid one of Europe’s other big teams, like Bayern, Guardiola would rather his team not play them. He won three Bundesliga titles with Bayern. He told everyone after the win over Copenhagen that he didn’t want to play for that German club, PSG, or Madrid.
“If you play against Bayern Munich, you know how many Champions Leagues they’ve won and how long they’ve been around,” he said last week. “We respect all of them, and we’re scared too.””We are, but I don’t know if they are.”
Because of how well his team has done in Europe lately, Guardiola said that they would be ready for another last eight match, even though he wanted to avoid one of the other favorites. You may remember that City beat Bayern in the quarterfinals and then Madrid in the playoffs last year. In those four games, they scored nine goals.
The manager told his men, “Maybe it’s not enough for you.” I remember how hard it is every time we go through the group stage. Okay, some say it’s just Copenhagen. They’re great in my opinion. It looks easy to get a score of 6-2. It’s not, though.
“In the end, Madrid had to suffer to beat Leipzig.” Some people say it’s simple when we play Leipzig. It’s not easy; everything is tough.
“It’s good that people don’t question our form; that means our standards are clear.” But we know everything there is to know about the stars and coaches. I want my club and the people who run it to make everything seem so hard to grasp. Since you’re there. It’s great that you’re still beating everyone else.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain are teams Guardiola wants City to stay away from. After that, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona are the other four teams they could play in the draw. In extra time, they beat FC Porto on Tuesday night and are now in the playoffs.
