Man Utd is apparently going to do something after their awful draw with Brentford, even though Mason Greenwood got hit.

Manchester United is allegedly ready to pay the £51 million release clause for Juventus defender Gleison Bremer, even though Mason Greenwood is blocking a swap deal. As Erik ten Hag gets ready to replace Raphael Varane this summer, the Red Devils may step up their interest in Bremer.

This week, it was said that United wanted to include Greenwood in a deal for Bremer so that the Brazilian international would not have to ask for as much money.

The forward, who is worth £40 million, is said to have turned down the chance to join Juventus because he wants to stay in Spain after his season-long loan at Getafe ends.

In 28 games for the La Liga team, Greenwood has scored eight goals and set up five others. He is allegedly being coveted by big clubs like Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

Juventus is another Italian team that has been linked to him, but they probably won’t sign him as a way to get Bremer to move to United.

United is still hoping to bring Bremer to Old Trafford this summer, even though Greenwood doesn’t want to move to Turin.

La Repubblica says that Manchester United are ready to pay his £51 million release option and not negotiate with Juventus to sign him.

His future in Italy is said to be unclear, even though he is an important part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans at the Allianz Stadium.

Bremer has played 29 of Juventus’ 30 Serie A games this season, missing one because he got too many yellow cards. The Old Lady will allegedly look at offers, though, because they are short on cash.

According to the story, Bremer’s lawyers have an agreement with Juventus that says if his release clause is used, he will think about leaving the club.

Varane’s withdrawal at halftime in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford was another reason why United won’t offer him a new deal at his current £340,000-a-week salary.
