Wirtz is now playing for Bayer Leverkusen.

It has been determined that the offensive midfielder is one of the club’s main priorities heading into the year 2024, and it is claimed that the club is willing to pay more than fifty million pounds in order to get the highly regarded twenty-year-old player.

However, given that Leverkusen is now in first place in the Bundesliga and is not in a hurry to sell one of its prized assets, a player who has already scored six goals and provided ten assists this season, it is possible that any move for Wirtz will have to be postponed until the summer.A loan move for Kalvin Phillips is now the club’s main priority, and they are also looking to bring in a versatile forward who is capable of playing either up top or out wide. It is anticipated that the club will bring in at least two new players during the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old Phillips is eager to get some playing time during the second half of the season in order to increase his chances of qualifying for the Euro 2024 tournament. Eddie Howe is a great supporter of Phillips, and he is interested in making a switch to Tyneside. It has been brought to our attention that his injury history is a cause for concern; yet, he is regarded as a good short-term alternative for Sandro Tonali and has the potential to provide us with an additional option to play in that holding role, where we have been guilty of placing an excessive amount of dependence on Bruno Guimaraes.

However, it is believed that Tino Livramento’s performances at left-back will allow Dan Bun to act as cover in the middle, and Jamaal Lascelles’ performances in Sven Botman’s absence will also reduce our immediate need for another option. A center-back was considered a top target during the summer of 2017, and alternatives have been investigated leading up to the New Year.Instead, it is anticipated that a top center-back will arrive during the summer of the following year. Additionally, a younger option that is capable of competing with Fabian Schar and becoming Sven Botman’s long-term partner is still going to be a key priority, along with the exciting Wirtz.
