Three new players were brought in by the Bluebirds on trade deadline day.

David Turnbull has been signed by Cardiff City from Celtic. This brings their total number of arrivals on trade deadline day to three.

Josh Wilson-Esbrand was brought in on loan, and goalie Ethan Horvath was hired full-time. Now, 24-year-old midfielder Turnbull starts a new job in south Wales that will last until June 2027.

Erol Bulut has been desperate to improve Cardiff’s midfield. He wants to add top players who can score goals and set them up. And he thinks that Turnbull, who has played 134 times for Celtic and helped score 54 goals, will bring just that.

Turnbull can play either a standard central midfield role or a central attacking role, which puts him a little further forward. But since Aaron Ramsey also came back from injury this week, Bulut can look forward to a more creative and exciting middle.

“I see a lot of good stuff. Bulut said of Turnbull’s signing, “He is a good age, he played for Celtic for three years and scored and set up many goals.” “This is what we need in the middle.” In the attacking shape, he is creative and can finish off attacks.

“Now we have different styles to choose from.” We have more creative midfielders and ones who play defense. We can now change a few players in the second half if we need to and keep the same level of play.

Reports in Scotland say that Cardiff paid £2million for Turnbull’s skills, but the fee has not been made public. But it’s thought that the starting fee is less than what was said.

Turnbull was happy to see the deal through. He spent three-and-a-half years at Celtic after leaving Motherwell in 2020.

“I’m thrilled to be here,” the five-time Scotland captain said. “These past few days have been long, but I’m glad to have it done and can’t wait to start.” It really interested me when I heard about it. The Club is very big. I’ve seen them before and now I want to join in and move on.

“The city is great, and it was nice to see the stadium when I got there.” I’m really excited about it and think it’s great.

He is the sixth and last player the club has signed in January.
