Reason why Celtic FC was not awarded a penalty after 29-year-old Kyogo Furhashi was fouled by Michael Devlin

Kris Boyd and Chris Sutton couldn’t agree on whether Celtic should have been given a penalty in the first half.

Boyd wouldn’t believe that Kyogo Furhashi was hit, even though Michael Devlin didn’t touch the ball.

To Sky Sports, he said, “So, you had to look at it several times and still couldn’t decide, so it’s not clean and clear.”

“That’s never a penalty; he was already on the ground before the hit.” Keep an eye on him; he’s already going down. He grabs his ankle and leg. “Never a fine.”

When it came to Celtic not getting the penalty, Sutton felt sorry for them.

“I think Celtic will feel hard done by,” he told Sky Sports. I have had to look at this many times myself.

“Don Robertson should have been sent over to the monitor to take a look.” Kyogo gets to the ball first and makes touch, so I think it’s a penalty.

Even though Celtic thought they should have been given a penalty, they didn’t let that get to them in the second half, when they beat Livingston 3–0.

With Rangers coming up next, Celtic looks like they’ve found their form again. Next Sunday at Ibrox could be the most important game of the season so far.
