Manchester United
Report: Manchester United prepared to replace two summer signings including Sofyan Amrabat.
Manchester United reportedly considered replacing two summer acquisitions, including Sofyan Amrabat.Manchester United are already considering acquiring a midfielder in January to replace Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat. Both of them have fallen short of the anticipated level of performance since joining United in the summer.
Prior to the conclusion of the November international break, Mount suffered an additional injury that has rendered him temporarily inactive. The summer transfer priority of United manager Erik ten Hag was the acquisition of the England international, who was sought after for his inventiveness and vitality.Mount was utilized by Ten Hag in a deeper position, in contrast to the offensive role he occupied during his time at Chelsea. In August, the 24-year-old sustained an injury while starting the first two games of the season against Tottenham Hotspur.Following his recovery from his initial injury during the September international break, Mount was unable to make a substantial impact. This season, the Englishman has appeared in just one game for the Red Devils, a single 90-minute appearance.
The 24-year-old played the entire Carabao Cup defeat at Old Trafford to Newcastle United, which ended 3-0. Despite the Magpies’ possessional advantage, Mount was unable to generate any danger for the host team. In addition, Timo Livramento humiliated the former Chelsea player with his easy victory and first-goal assist.
In the interim, Fiorentina’s Amrabat joined the club on transfer deadline day for a season-long contract. The Morocco international joined the club in September as a late substitute against Burnley after recovering from an injury. The Guardian reported that United are interested in bolstering their midfield with a new number eight. United’s season has been severely hampered by the failures of Amrabat and Mount, and they cannot afford to continue in this manner.United are presently without Casemiro and Christian Eriksen due to injuries that have rendered them inactive. December’s congested matchup may present Mount and Amrabat with ample opportunities to redeem their United careers. On account of Mount’s current injury, however, his anticipated return is shrouded in speculation.
