For the second time in two years, English players will not have their names on the back of their shirts because of this.

France plays Belgium on Tuesday at Wembley. Their names will not be on the back of their shirts during the second part of the game because the FA said so. Because the FA works with the Alzheimer’s Society, the game will be called the “Alzheimer’s Society International.” This is done to help fund and learn more about dementia studies.

The English team is going to give these one-of-a-kind shirts, which will then be sold at auction to raise money for research into Alzheimer’s disease. A lot of the money will be used to study how to find the cancer faster.

There were no names on the shirts for the first game, which took place at Wembley Stadium in 2022 between England and Switzerland. It was the very first Alzheimer’s Society International meeting.

So that people remember that football should be fun, the clothes will be worn again when England plays Belgium. The England men’s team also wants to bring attention to the sickness and take action against it. It has become the leading cause of death in the country in the last two years.

English clothes have been in the news twice in the last week. Today is the second time. People who like the Three Lions and leaders alike have paid a lot of attention to the St. George’s flag on the back of the shirt. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said it was wrong to mess with England’s flag, and Keir Starmer, the leader of the opposition, asked Nike to “reconsider” their choice.

Nike said that the new flag, which is red, purple, and blue, is a “playful update” to the red ones that were used before. It said in a statement, “Together with the FA, the goal was to honor the heroes of 1966 and what they did.” The cuff trim is based on the clothes that England’s team from 1966 wore to train. The color range goes from blue to red to purple. One of the same-colored flags is drawn on the back of the collar.

Even though people all over the country were mad about the kit, the FA said they had no plans to return it. They said that England’s match shirts had been made in different colors before. But they did say they knew how important the flag was to England fans and made sure it could be seen when England played Brazil.
