Sunday marked the official confirmation that INEOS CEO and British magnate Ratcliffe had acquired a 25% stake in the Old Trafford club.

 

According to reports, Ratcliffe and his group will oversee football operations, whereas the Glazers will be responsible for the commercial aspect.It was rumored that Ratcliffe sent a private letter to a few United fan groups following the confirmation of the transaction; the letter was subsequently leaked on social media.

 

Ratcliffe penned the following via The Express: “I felt compelled to write to you at this juncture in light of the pivotal role that Manchester United supporters play in the club’s future, as we acknowledge our duty as guardians of the organization on your behalf.

 

“I am confident that we have the ability to supplement the club’s undeniable commercial success with sporting triumphs.” The magnate of petrochemicals continued by cautioning admirers that success would not materialize immediately.
