“Why would Arteta do this to me when it is so early in my career and everything is fine?” A defender for Arsenal is DISAPPOINTED after Arteta approves a covert deal to replace him in January with a defender from the Portugal division for £35 million.”Why would Arteta do this to me when it is so early in my career and everything is fine?” Arsenal’s defender is DISAPPOINTED when Arteta authorizes a covert deal for a defender from the Portugal division to replace him in January for £35 million.According to Record (page 14), Arsenal are extremely interested in signing Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande, but could face competition from Chelsea and Newcastle United. The adolescent has been under the pursuit of the Gunners for a considerable duration. A transaction was initially considered during his time at Midtjylland; however, Sporting emerged victorious in the competition to acquire his services last winter.Last summer, the north London giants submitted a €35 million proposal to Sporting for center-back Diomande, but the Portuguese club refused to sell him.Arsenal continue to be’very interested’ in acquiring the wonderkid, according to recent reports; Chelsea and Newcastle are also keeping an eye on his performances.

Sporting is anticipated to exercise his €80 million release clause in January; however, according to Record, the club may not object to his transfer the following summer in an effort to increase their finances.

Still the favorites to acquire Diomande are Arsenal.

The 19-year-old has emerged as a revelation since transferring from Midtjylland to Sporting. The center-back has completed 62 passes per game with a 90 percent accuracy rate this season.

He has recorded five duels and 1.7 tackles per game on defense, in addition to 1.6 clearances. He has recovered nearly six balls per outing, and his performance should continue to improve as he gains experience.

Earlier this year, Arsenal were unable to acquire him for a nominal fee; he is now available for a premium price.

The Gunners simply cannot be expected to pay the buy-out clause. They might attempt to negotiate a €50 million transfer proposal for the Ivory Coast international by the end of the season.

Given the attention of Chelsea and Newcastle, Arsenal must be proactive in their pursuit. This could be accomplished by negotiating with Diomande’s representatives in an effort to persuade the defender to make a change.
