Gary Neville issues a two-word warning to Arsenal and Liverpool subsequent to the Man City update.
Arsenal and Liverpool have been endorsed by Gary Neville as the frontrunners in the Premier League title competition, following Manchester City’s 4-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
The fifth consecutive loss in all competitions for the reigning champions on Saturday was a lapse that provided rivals, such as Chelsea and Brighton, with an opportunity to challenge for the top four.
The former Manchester United defender emphasized on Sky Sports that this presents an opportunity for Mikel Arteta’s team and Arne Slot, and they should be confident in their pursuit of the title.
He stated, “If you are Arsenal or Liverpool—the two genuine teams that have the potential to win the title, in addition to City—you must not become overconfident; however, there are no more excuses.”
“I am more concerned with Arsenal than Liverpool when I make that statement.”
At the commencement of the season, an individual who observes Arne Slot’s arrival and the actions he has taken would express uncertainty regarding whether or not this will transpire. If Arsenal’s season was not to be City’s, it was Arsenal’s.
Following Man City update, Gary Neville delivers Liverpool and Arsenal two-word warning.
After Manchester City lost 4-0 to Tottenham Hotspur, Gary Neville has supported Arsenal and Liverpool to spearhead the Premier League title fight.
The loss on Saturday by the current champions marked their fifth successive loss in all competitions; a fall that gave rivals—including Chelsea and Brighton—a chance at the top four.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the former Manchester United defender underlined that Arne Slot and Mikel Arteta’s club should feel confident about their title prospects.
“If you’re Arsenal, if you’re Liverpool – I’m thinking the two genuine teams that can win the title other than City – you must not get carried away but feel there are no excuses here now,” he said.
“With that remark, I’m focusing more on Arsenal than Liverpool. Anybody looking at Arne Slot arriving at the beginning of the season would say: “I’m not quite sure that will happen”. If this was City’s season, Arsenal’s was another.
