Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United’s captain, was mad at the referees after their close loss to Fulham at Old Trafford on Saturday.

On Saturday, Manchester United lost 2-1 to Fulham at Old Trafford. After the game, captain Bruno Fernandes yelled at referee Michael Oliver for being unfair.

Chelsea won the game with a goal from Alex Iwobi in the last second. It was United’s first loss in all competitions in 2024. They beat Liverpool for the first time in 15 years when the center back scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute.

United was definitely not playing their best all afternoon, but they thought they had done enough when Harry Maguire scored in the last minute of normal time to cancel out Calvin Bassey’s first goal. In the extra nine minutes, United did everything they could to beat Fulham.

After the game was over, Fernandes seemed very mad at Oliver and told the Premier League official who blew the whistle how he felt. It wasn’t clear why the former Sporting Lisbon player was so mad, but the way he screamed and waved his hands around in front of Oliver and his staff made it look like he wanted something.

To show his anger, the attacking midfielder shook hands with Oliver and his helpers before United manager Erik ten Hag could leave the M16 field. Ten Hag stood between Fernandes and Oliver so Oliver could give him a hug.

Fernandes kept yelling at Ten Hag as he walked around the back of the judge. He was still very angry. In the end, the United leader left while shaking his head and thinking to himself.

When Ten Hag’s team lost, he said, “Yes, there were slow starts.” We had a chance to win this game because the team worked hard. We should have been awake as soon as the whistle went off.

“We got the equalizer, and at that point, we deserved it.” We did our best to win.
