Mikel Arteta sends message to Aaron Ramsdale ahead of Arsenal goalkeeper’s Premier League comeback.
Mikel Arteta affirmed Aaron Ramsdale will return to the Premier League on Saturday against Brentford, but refrained from stating whether he would maintain his starting position despite putting forth a man-of-the-match effort.Following the summer acquisition of David Raya from Brentford, Ramsdale has relinquished his position as the club’s undisputed No. 1 goalkeeper and is now contending for his future with Arsenal.
According to reports published on Thursday, Arteta has already determined that the club will exercise the option to complete the Spaniard’s permanent transfer for £27 million in the summer.
This weekend, however, Ramsdale will have the opportunity to briefly recall his qualities, as Raya is unable to compete against his parent club. When asked whether he had noticed an improvement in Ramsdale’s disposition prior to his first Premier League appearance since September 3, Arteta responded, “No, I do not believe that any player is eager to play.” Everyone is incredibly eager to participate.’They anticipate playing constantly. Occasionally, a few hours or the day before a match, there is disappointment, but every player is eager to participate.
Arteta added, “Hopefully he doesn’t need to save two penalties and he has an incredible game,” in response to a question regarding whether he would retain his starting position against Lens in midweek should he do so against Brentford.Last month, Ramsdale discussed the most trying period of his career, revealing that he was concerned that his lack of activity could result in his exclusion from the England squad.
When asked how he could assist the 24-year-old in improving his international prospects, Arteta responded, “My job is to assist every player in the most effective manner possible on a daily basis in order to improve them and give them the best opportunity to reach their maximum potential in their career, regardless of position or player.”
Brentford, who have firmly established themselves as a Premier League power and have had yet another steady start to the season, will present Ramsdale and Arteta with a formidable challenge to prove their worth.
Arteta stated, “With Thomas, the coaching staff, and the club as a whole, they are, in my opinion, among the most well-managed clubs in the league.” “I’ve followed them for many years, and it’s incredible what they’ve accomplished with the resources at their disposal—their operations, structure, established processes, and vision—are nothing short of astounding.”Not only do they deserve tremendous credit for attaining and achieving this level, but also for the manner in which they have sustained it amidst the numerous changes and the demanding environment of this league.
