Reason why the 29 years-old Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes declined the proposal to move Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal during the January transfer window
The most recent trade rumors from Old Trafford involve AC Milan star Rafael Leao and Manchester United player Bruno Fernandes.
Reports say that Bruno Fernandes turned down a rich offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal during the January transfer window. The Manchester United captain was committed to staying with the club and turned down the chance to play with Neymar in the Gulf state.
Fernandes, who is 29 years old, joined United in January 2020 and is thought to be one of the best players in Europe. But even though the playmaker hasn’t won many trophies at Old Trafford, he has chosen to stay and lead their effort to get back to their past glory.
Reports from a Portuguese newspaper The records show that Al-Hilal was interested and that the Saudi Pro League club did everything they could to sign him last month. Jorge Jesus is in charge of Al-Hilal. He worked with Fernandes at Sporting Lisbon before he moved to United.
Even though the Gulf state tried hard to get Fernandes to join, the 63-cap international is thought to have turned down that “pharaonic proposal” to stay. The former Sampdoria player is said to want to do everything he can to help United win more titles after winning the Carabao Cup last year.
