Journalist: “They don’t trust”: Newcastle have business to do in the January transfer window and are considering making a new acquisition due to their lack of confidence in the £60 million player.

The Magpies are in desperate need of a new midfielder due to Sandro Tonali’s suspension, and Sven Botman’s recent injury has accentuated the Tyneside club’s need for additional depth at the back.Dean Jones claims that in addition to the current pressing concerns regarding the defence and midfield, there is a collective sentiment at St James’ Park regarding the necessity for a new striker.

Jones stated on the Chasing Green Arrows Podcast that Newcastle are currently considering the possibility of acquiring a new forward in January due to their lack of confidence in Alexander Isak’s ability to maintain fitness throughout the course of the season.Newcastle, which lacks confidence in Isak, may pursue a new acquisition.

Jones disclosed his knowledge of the £60 million player and Newcastle’s transfer intentions.

“As far as I am aware, Newcastle are currently contemplating whether or not they require a forward in January due to the departures of Isak and Wilson. “They cannot be undone by this; if they had no other choice, it would be gutting for them,” Jones said.

“They will likely consider pursuing an alternative wide-ranging attacking option; Isak is an excellent wide-man, but I doubt they have faith in his ability to maintain fitness from now until the end of the season, which is probably prudent.”Prefer a plan B

As excellent a football player as Isak is, availability is the most important quality; if Isak cannot maintain his fitness, they must have a backup plan.

Although Callum Wilson is present, he is also not exactly the most dependable player in terms of fitness after leaving Bournemouth.

Newcastle has identified several areas that require attention, so it will be intriguing to observe the club’s January spending plan.
