While eager to name another formidable squad to face Chelsea, the Newcastle United manager will be cognizant of the fact that several of his players may benefit from a break.Eddie Howe found himself in a challenging circumstance as his injury crisis continued to worsen marginally on Saturday in the match against Fulham.

Joelinton and Fabian Schar were both forced off, but the return of Sven Botman at least provided a boost for the Magpies.

After missing seventeen consecutive games due to a knee injury, he entered the field off the bench to an enormous ovation from the Toon Army. The Newcastle players, who have evidently missed playing alongside Botman, were also visibly delighted.

The 23-year-old’s return from injury is an enormous relief, and all Newcastle United supporters will be hopeful he returns permanently.

Eddie Howe, who is still undecided as to whether or not to start Botman at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, is among those who are affected.

Before Newcastle’s match against Chelsea, Howe refused to clarify whether or not Botman would make the starting lineup in a press conference.”He has recovered exceptionally well, so we must decide whether or not to start him in this game,” he explained.

“He is one of those athletes who contributes that little bit extra to the team’s performance. “He was missed; he is a large individual with a substantial presence.”Newcastle must approach Botman with caution.

It was revealing that Botman did not even warm up when Schar was obliged to leave on Saturday. With over seventy minutes remaining, Howe did not even contemplate reintroducing Botman into the game, which says everything you need to know about his fitness. It was encouraging to see him get some playing time, but it would be unexpected for him to start against Chelsea only a few days after the victory over Fulham.

Although it would be ideal to see Botman commence operations immediately, Howe must exercise extreme caution. They have diligently monitored his recovery, making every effort to prevent the necessity of surgical intervention.

Despite the achievement thus far, prudence remains in regards to reintegrating Botman into the team.
